ABOUT US
Mission Statement
The African Promise is a high quality renaissance magazine for Africa and friends of Africa. It is committed to the pursuit of excellence as it enriches communities worldwide. We accept a primary leadership role in addressing the needs and challenges of the African, and its derivatives, in all areas of endeavor.
The "TAP philosophy" is comprehensive, embracing intellectual, social, spiritual, physical, cultural, material, economic and political attitudinal tools in promoting advancement and equity.
We emphasize an environment of free and open enquiry, personal and communal integrity, service to humanity, sound families as impetus for nation-building, appreciation of ethnic and cultural diversity, mutual respect for all, steady reviews of our value systems and self-examination at all times.
Our expectation is to enrich all communities irrespective of color or creed by advancing knowledge and learning. We profess that, education about, and knowledge of the diversity of mankind is the only guarantee for its survival. Our aim is to contribute to the betterment of society and the discovery of knowledge by instigating and nurturing development through the stimulation of creative thinking on ethical platforms.
What we expect to accomplish is the promotion of a complement of skills critical to productivity and decision making; information and other exchanges that emphasize the 'global village' that the world has become.
Friends of Africa, in their niche, debate the African Milieu extensively, proffering solutions for the continent's regeneration. Veterans of many "race and rights" battles are decisive on the cause of the "African downturn": Access to knowledge must not be restricted. Solutions? Expose Africa! Its history and achievements; hopes; aspirations; challenges! When Africa is celebrated it should honour nothing mediocre, corrupt, inept, violent or callous. Rather, African must be celebrated as an inspiration to positive change and development. It must be understood that being African is not a question of colour but a matter of hearts that recognize and admit Africa's incredible contribution to civilization at its most excellent.
In this journey, which began as "Salt & Pepper" , passed through "The African Native" we are now on course as The African Promise, our high grounds are, education, knowledge, equity, diversity, understanding and the appreciation of life. Do not expect Gossip, Slander or Malice.
